Today, the Fisher House at the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans’ Hospital in Little Rock celebrated a key milestone with a topping-off ceremony, marking the placement of the final steel beam and bringing the project one step closer to completion. This significant moment was attended by veterans, hospital staff, and community supporters, all eager to see this new facility provide much-needed support for veteran families.

Kathy Balkman, President of Friends of Fisher House Arkansas, delivered a heartfelt speech at the ceremony, expressing gratitude for the support that has made the Fisher House a reality. She emphasized the positive impact the facility will have on families who will soon have a welcoming place to stay while their loved ones receive treatment.

Yesterday, Rep. French Hill toured the construction site and signed the final beam, symbolizing his continued dedication to veterans and their families. His advocacy has been instrumental in helping bring this important resource to the Little Rock community.

With the completion in sight, the construction team is making swift and steady progress. When finished, the Fisher House will offer veteran families a "home away from home," providing lodging at no cost and fostering a supportive environment during challenging times.
